The Lions (The Sisters) are a pair of twin peaks crowning the skyline of Vancouver's North Shore. 
I first climbed up them when I was 15 and camped atop the west peak during a Harvest Moon.
My grandfather had built the trail that leads to them from Lions Bay and his ashes are now overlook the peaks. 
​Providing 360° views of Vancouver, the Howe Sound and the start of the Coastal Mountain Range, they have become a place of pilgrimage for me ever since. There is a spiritual resonance that can be found at the top—and it's a force that keeps pulling me back year after year and painting after painting.
