Painting is my meditation.
I view the paintings I make as altars for the home or lived environment. Meaning that the paintings are objects to be viewed in passing or for extended periods multiple times a day and meant to connect you with something greater than yourself.
That’s also why I build the cedar shelves they come with. The shelves are places to add your own offerings and mementos—a spot for symbols or reminders of a certain place or experience.
Around my home and studio they usually have small rocks, coins, or jewelry.
You can add whatever you wish.
